Killfloor Goes Mobile Filed under: Misc., Technology
Tired of spending most of your day in situations where you can’t read Killfloor? Were you ever taking a crap and all of the sudden had an overwhelming urge to find out what the hell to do Saturday night? Your day has finally come, for Killfloor is now available on your mobile phone or PDA. Amazing! You can read all the latest entries by date or by category, and there’s even a nifty feature where you can submit a field report to tell others about a bitchin’ party you’re at or your band’s show (please do not submit a field report about how big your penis is). If the field report thing works out we’ll add a feature to the site where you can view what people send in. |

Municipal Wi-fi Threatened Filed under: Politics, Technology
More from the 79th session of the Texas legislature today, also known as the longest running April Fools joke of all time, concerning bill HB 789; which, if passed, would make it impossible for municipalities in Texas to start Wi-fi programs in libraries, parks, and other public places. The bill has garnered support from many representatives, including Rep. Phil King (the bill’s sponsor) and wireless broadband provider SBC, who feel that free municipal Wi-fi is directly competing with businesses whose job it is to deliver wireless internet. As Rep. King puts it, “No business should have to compete with public tax dollars.” Text of HB 789 [PDF] |
