Art Cars On Parade
They say you are what you drive. So I guess if you’re car is an El Dorado decorated to look like a giant goat then… well, you might have trouble picking up dates. Not this weekend though, because the third annual Art Car Parade is (literally) rolling in to town. So if you’ve been seeing some pretty abnormal automobiles this is the likely explaination (although it could be one of those rogue art cars). If you haven’t guessed, the Art Car Parade involves a procession of painstakenly decorated cars down Congress Ave., starting at the capitol and eventually ending in the Congress Ave. Baptist Church parking lot on South Congress, where a so-called “car-nival” takes place. The parade takes place this Saturday, April 16 at 11:30am, with that kooky “car-nival” going from 1:30-4:30pm. We can honestly say that the art on display is quite “moving”. (Sorry.)
